Courtney Love has trashed her West Village townhouse so severely that her landlady is trying to evict her. The landlady says Courtney has set the $8 million four-story townhouse on fire and ruined the interior by painting over hand-finished walls among other transgressions. This despite a specific stipulation in the lease that nothing be done to alter the place. By the way Courtney also owes $50,000 in rent. Good luck collecting that. Unless you consider urine-soaked clothing a form of currency, Courtney's broke.
The landlady's lawyer states that Courtney "has taken a historical house done by a recognized designer, and has taken upon herself to redecorate it. It Is tantamount to destroying a work of art." So let me get this straight: This woman paid $8 million for an 1827 West Village townhouse then turned around and rented it to Courtney Love? And she has the nerve to be shocked that Courtney trashed the place? Hasn't this woman ever heard of vetting? Fuck vetting, hasn't this woman ever been on the internet? I wouldn't let Courtney Love stay in my place for a weekend much less rent it to her. Landlady is lucky she still has an $8 million townhouse to kick Courtney out of.
